With us, everyone pulls together when it comes to developing highly efficient solutions for our customers
Our history
In 2004, Walter Lanz and two business partners (ComAp Prague, Czech Republic and IPU, Birmingham, England) founded 42technology AG , based in Aarwangen.
After the first few years focusing on trading products in the energy sector, 42technology soon concentrated on the construction of customized control systems for emergency power systems and combined heat and power plants. Thanks to the success of its solutions, 42technology grew rapidly and established itself as a technological leader in the banking, insurance, research and biogas sectors.
In 2011, the software company Scentech AG merged with 42technology AG. This followed a long and successful collaboration in the supply business for combined heat and power plants in biogas plants. With the new capabilities, 42technology was now able to provide customers with control solutions and associated control systems and SCADA from a single source. The owners Walter Lanz and Stephan Koch have been running the company together ever since.
After a record result in 2013, our two largest customers went bankrupt the following year. The two companies produced combined heat and power plants for biogas plants and were unable to recover from falling demand as a result of a change in remuneration policy on the electricity market. This failure also left its mark on 42technology with high losses and job cuts.
After the hard landing, 42technology was able to sell switchgear to manufacturers of combined heat and power plants and supply suppliers of emergency power supplies for data centers with engineering, control systems, protection, medium-voltage systems and conversion work. These activities have contributed to the very positive development of 42technology.
Today, 42technology is recognized as an expert in the planning and implementation of complex emergency power systems for data centers, as a supporter of the energy transition with battery storage and in the production of heat and electricity using combined heat and power plants. With a dedicated team of engineers and technology experts, the company continues to innovate to increase energy efficiency, reduce dependence on traditional energy sources and provide sustainable energy solutions for the future.

Thank you team!
Our employees are what make us who we are and are the heart of our company. With energy, commitment and support, we create a positive environment together and thus ensure our long-term success.
